This half-day course covers the safe use of ladders and steps at work. Designed for managers, supervisors and users, the course has both classroom content and practical exercises involving the use and inspection of ladders.

There is a detailed explanation of the different types of ladders available, their components, maintenance, inspection and storage requirements, plus how to identify faults and take a ladder out of use.

The practical session includes, safe setting up of steps and ladders, and considerations to take into account in their use. This includes the responsibilities for risk assessment prior to starting work.

Delegates will be assessed with a written test at the end of the course. Successful candidates will be issued with a facelift certificate of competency.

Average course length is 4 hours, however this may vary dependant on the Trainee's experience.

Courses can be held on your own site or at any of our Training Centres, situated in Hickstead, East London, West London, Southampton and Liverpool.
